Ticket price bargain
Ticket price bargain
Sadly we have had to raise our ticket prices by £1 for an adult ticket - simply because the cost of performance rights and script hire for our productions of is so high.
Still, at £8 for an adult ticket that makes our tickets a real bargain - laugh for laugh more than 90 per cent cheaper than the average West End performance!
We keep our costs low thanks to the dedicated work of our backstage and technical team who use enormous ingenuity and creativity to produce stunning scenery, effects and costumes on a tiny budget. Our Front of House team also make a huge contribution to our finances via the raffle and the excellent refreshments. We'll certainly drink to that!

“Meet the Players”
Open Evening at Soberton Village Hall
Monday 16th May from 7.30pm
- Was your school production the last time you acted on stage?
- Have you studied drama or theatre but not had a chance to use your skills yet?
- Do you think you might like to have a go at am dram, but worry that you might not have the talent?
Answer yes to any of the above and we’d love you to come and get to know Soberton Players, your local, extremely friendly and – we like to think – pretty accomplished am dram group.
After 30 years of productions – some brilliant, some, well, less so – we are keen to ensure the group continues to stage entertaining shows for years to come. But, frankly, some of us are getting older and we need fresh talent both on stage, directing and on the lighting and sound side. We are particularly interested in recruiting people who can play the teens to thirties characters.
We’re considering some rather exciting material for 2016-2018 – “Gypsy”, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” “Ladies Day” “Noises Off” and “The Railway Children” to name but a few. Our plans are still fluid though, so if you have some ideas about productions you would like to see on the Soberton stage, do please come along and discuss them with us.
The evening will be quite informal with a glass of wine and a few nibbles, a bit of chat, some brief readings and possibly even a stab at rehearsing and performing a five-minute comedy if there is enough interest.
You may not think of yourself as an actor, but then neither did most of the current Players. We simply looked in one day to help with teas or chaperone a junior player and got hooked on the smell of the greasepaint (all now water-based thankfully)……
So do drop in, meet the team and see if you might like to get involved.
